Koryu
Uchinadi Kenpo-jutsu
Koryu Uchinadi Kenpo-jutsu is
a modern interpretation of Okinawa's historic
combative-like disciplines. A completely systematized,
cohesive and coherent method of learning/teaching,
delivered in a traditional atmosphere, honoring both its
culture and pioneers.
Koryu Uchinadi
Kenpo-jutsu can also be
learned/imparted as a provocative alternative to
conventional methods of physical fitness and stress
management. Learning how to respond dispassionately to
unwarranted aggression requires self- empowerment. Such
training promotes an inner-calm and, where conflict
exists, helps restore balance to personal and
professional relationships.
Koryu Uchinadi is a
non-competitive, totally application-based defensive
practice, punctuated with moral philosophy and
highlighted by introspective teaching as a comprehensive
single study.

Congratulations
It is with great pleasure that I
am able to announce that my student, and friend, Jerry Figgiani
has decided to make his school a full time Koryu Uchinadi dojo.
Sensei Jerry's students should feel lucky to have such a humble
and dedicated karate-ka as their teacher. Having already
achieved the coveted 7th dan in shorin-ryu, Sensei Jerry is
already a master in his own right. Yet even with all of his
experience he continues to search for knowledge and that journey
has brought him to Koryu Uchinadi. This is truly the sign of a
humble master. I have enjoyed working personally with him and
his students over the past few years and look forward to
continuing our close relationship in the future. For us, here
at the International Ryukyu Karate Research Society, it's a very
exciting time to have our first fulltime Koryu Uchinadi dojo in
New York. We congratulate Sensei Figgiani and his students on
this meritorious ocassion and welcome anyone interested in
learning more about our tradition to drop in to visit the dojo
at your convenience.
With respect,

Koryu Uchinadi Kenpo Jutsu
The Japanese Shodo (brush art) exemplifies
the Japanese concept of “Bun Bu Ichi” or the Pen and Sword in
Accord meaning that one must balance physical training with
scholarly pursuits to be well refined. The Chinese
pictographs under the brush art read Koryu Uchinadi (Old Style
